Delhi-based Ambika International, supplier of architectural hardware fittings, is keen to add dealers not only in its strongholds but also in new markets. In an exclusive conversation with Sourcing Hardware, the company’s managing director Abhinav Gupta shared that in 2019 the company plans to add about 50 dealers. The company has a good dealer base in Punjab.
“At present our dealer count is 85; the majority of them are based in Punjab,” he shared. “In 2019 we plan to add around 50 more dealers to our existing network,” Gupta informed, adding that the focus markets for dealer expansion would be Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. “As we focus on the newer markets, we will continue to strengthen our position further in Punjab,” he remarked. In Uttar Pradesh, the company aims to appoint dealers in Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, and Shahjahanpur.
“We offer quality products in an affordable price range and would prefer to partner with someone who has been in the trade and understands the business, besides focusing on the potential dealer’s market goodwill and financial strength,” he remarked. The minimum stock order should be worth Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. On its part, Ambika International will ensure on-time delivery of orders, credit facility and lifetime replacement. The locks are priced in the range Rs 450 to Rs 900, and the hinges are priced between Rs 15 to Rs 150.
On the manufacturing front, he said that the company has an exclusive arrangement with OEMs. “We work on the design and quality, while the manufacturing is taken care of by our exclusive OEMs,” informed Gupta. He added that the company is very particular about quality of its product offerings. “We have put in pace quality control measures and and only those products meeting the quality paramters are sent for packaging,” he shared. This fiscal will also see introduction of new products, he shared. “We will be launching new designs and hinges in new finishes in the first quarter of this fiscal.”
