The 6th edition of DelhiWood, India’s most important trade show for the woodworking and furniture manufacturing sectors, is ready to welcome industry professionals. The biennial trade show will be held at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, from 13 to 16 March 2019. Going by past records, it is expected that more than 25,000 visitors will come to view displays of furniture production technologies, woodworking machinery, tools, fittings & accessories, raw materials and products. In 2017 around 60% exhibitors were global players, and professionals from woodworking, architecture and interior design communities visited the show.
In March 2018, NürnbergMesse had announced the acquisition of the three Indian shows Delhiwood, Mumbaiwood and Indiawood. NürnbergMesse is Germany’s leading trade show organiser and owner of global woodworking industry platform Holz-Handwerk. According to NürnbergMesse’s CEO Peter Ottmann, “The 3 plus 1 formula takes us to the next level…this latest product family makes a strong quartet for success.” NürnbergMesse India organises 15 trade shows including its latest acquisitions Delhiwood, Mumbaiwood and Indiawood.
According to NürnbergMesse, India has been an important market for the wood processing industry. Approximate revenue that Indian furniture and woodworking industry alone generates is around $20 billion annually, and it employs over 300,000 people. Being the 14th largest furniture market, India offers attractive investment opportunities for international companies. It attracts global companies from more than 67 countries with imports worth over $225 million.
DelhiWood 2019 will have more than 600 exhibitors from 30 countries, including over 12 government-supported country groups as well as national pavilions, covering more than 35,000sqm space.
