New Facility Centre for Plywood in Haryana
The Haryana government is planning to set up a common facility centre for the plywood industry at an estimated cost of `16.87 crore with assistance from the centre and Indian Plywood Industries Research & Training Institute, Bengaluru. Speaking about this during the Haryana Vidhan Sabha session, Haryana Industries Minister Captain Abhimanyu said that the facility centre will be helpful for about 100 plywood industrial units in district Yamunanagar.
He further said that while the contribution from the centre is pegged at 70%, the share of the state has been increased to 20% from earlier 10%, under the Enterprises Promotion Policy 2015. In this policy, emphasis had been laid on the development of micro, small and medium industries, which include the plywood industry of Yamunanagar. The share of industries for establishing joint ventures with the objective of arranging raw material from surrounding areashas been fixed at 10%.
Reiterating that the state government was laying emphasis on modernisation of the plywood industry of Yamunanagar, the minister informed the House that these units met 50% of the total demand of the country. ')}
