R P Locks Bets Big on Skill Development

New Delhi-based R P Locks Company, the owner of locks and security solutions Harrison brand, has pledged a major investment in skill development for the next two years. “Our budget for skilling in FY 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 is Rs 20 lakh, Rs 35 lakh, and 50 lakh respectively,” shared Umang Monga, the company’s managing director.

Revealing the company’s skilling goals for 2018-19 fiscal, Monga said that it is focusing on developing skills of carpenters and service providers on the installation of products that calls for skilled fitting to eliminate the inconvenience of end users. Harrison will train the manpower in those cities represented by its distributors.

“Our company has rolled out ‘Harrison on Wheels’ initiative aimed at providing the touch-and-feel experience of our feature-rich and application-focused products to end-users. We are also using the same platform to train and educate local carpenters and service providers of the area of visits by van of ‘Harrison on Wheels’. The skill development activities include installation and technical information of our products,” he informed. The company’s ‘Lock Guru’, Monga added, provides telephonic support service on “suitable” tips service to end users, and technical advice to carpenters and service providers.

“Extending the Harrison on Wheels, the company is in the process of creating a permanent Display and Application (DNA) centres in important cities and towns, wherein an end-user can visit the DNA centre and touch and feel the products before buying, besides getting the assistance of skilled and trained manpower to enhance customer satisfaction,” he remarked.
