Sleek Kitchens honoured for design excellence in India, blending functionality, lifestyle insights, and global design trends for modern families.
Aliasgar Hafizjee, design lead at Sleek Kitchens by Asian Paints, has spent nearly two decades watching Indian kitchens evolve—from simple cabinets to highly personalised,
functional spaces. A gold medallist in interior design and décor, Hafizjee’s career has
spanned modular furniture, store displays, and space planning, but his defining
breakthrough came in 2005 when he joined Sleek and stepped firmly into the modular
kitchen industry.
Today, he directs store design and product development for Sleek Kitchens across India,
guiding the rollout of new showrooms and the refinement of kitchen layouts. His work
brings together ergonomic design, customer-centric planning, and an understanding of
how urban nuclear families demand smarter, more efficient spaces.
“In the early 2000s, people were satisfied just to have a kitchen,” he reflects. “Now, they
expect it to be smart, functional, and intuitive. Modular kitchens are no longer a luxury;
they’re a necessity.”
With over 230 dealers and more than 450 outlets nationwide, Sleek Kitchens has
pioneered everything from wire baskets to complete kitchen systems, cementing its
place in India’s interior retail landscape. Its sister brand, Beautiful Homes, extends this
concept further by offering integrated solutions for lighting, wallpapers, bath fixtures,
and furnishings—while leaving loose furniture out of the mix.
The brand’s design strength was on full display at the IKC Awards 2025, where Sleek
won three honours: Gold for Kitchen Shop-in-Shop Store Design, Gold for Kitchen Design
Award-Completed (Classical), and Silver for Kitchen Design Award-Completed (Modern).
These wins underscore its ability to cater to diverse customer preferences.

One standout project was the Abupta showroom under Beautiful Homes, which spans nearly 900 sft across two levels. It features vibrant colours, open shelving, smart
lighting, and an array of kitchens, wardrobes, baths, and furnishings—showcasing how
design can be both inspiring and practical.
Preparing for the awards was no small task. “It felt like getting ready for a big vacation,”
Hafizjee laughs. “We reviewed over 30 of our showrooms, compiled walkthroughs,
gathered design documents, and created presentations. The entire design team was
committed.”
For him, recognition from peers and industry platforms is more than symbolic. “Awards
motivate us to raise our standards,” he says. “They enhance visibility, push us towards
higher quality, and reaffirm the creativity we bring to Indian homes.”
In an industry where function must meet emotion, Sleek Kitchens demonstrates how
thoughtful, globally attuned design can reshape kitchens—and the daily lives of those
who use them.
