Shresthi Bathware, the owner of brand Camry, will expand its product portfolio as well as retail network this year. The company, which has been manufacturing floor drains, shower channels and other accessories for the last decade and a half, claims to have introduced the ‘floor drain’ concept in India.
In an exclusive interaction with Sourcing Hardware, Shresthi’s managing director Pawan Jain (camry@gmail.com) said, “We are expanding our product portfolio and will soon be launching SS 304 faucets. The greatest advantage of stainless steel is that it is rust free,” adding that the raw material will be sourced from Taiwan.
The company has a 20,000sft manufacturing unit in Haryana’s Barhi industrial area. “We have a sizeable presence in terms of dealers and distributors across India, and this will help us take our products to customers rapidly.” Jain added that there would be no compromise on the quality of the product, yet it would be competitively priced.
Jain shared that the company has approximately 600 dealers and 10 distributors across the country. “However, we have no network in the states of West Bengal, Odisha and Assam, and we aim to focus on developing the eastern and north-eastern markets. At the same time, we are working on a plan to increase our reach in tier III and tier IV cities. After all, sooner or later they will be the growth markets.”
With a turnover of close to Rs 6 crore in 2017, the company’s target now is to double sales and enter new markets. “As we offer dealerships and distributorships in new markets, we will go by the applicants’ goodwill and financial position, and set certain payment terms.” So, distributors will be required to hold stocks of Rs 30-40 lakh. “We will help our new channel partners with product training and competitive margins, and supply them the required promotional material,” added Jain.
Sharing his thoughts on GST, Jain stated that it has been good for the business and things are getting better. “There were initial hiccups, but now that is gone. The serious players will survive in the market and unscrupulous players will be shunted out.” ')}
