Asian Granito Launches its Atmanirbhar Programme to Boost Profitability, Employment

Gujarat-based Asian Granito India Ltd, one of the leading manufacturer and exporter of tiles, marble and quartz, has launched AGL Atmanirbhar programme to drive retail and secondary sales in the semi-urban and rural areas. The company’s programme is aimed at reducing marketing costs and improving profitability while generating employment opportunities in these regions in the current slowdown period. It has launched a pilot project in the state and aims to launch the initiative in the future.

“It is the first time in India that such a digital marketing campaign is launched by a ceramic company. Taking inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thoughts on ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Be Vocal for Local’, we have launched this initiative on the auspicious occasion of Rathyatra. AGIL has taken this new initiative to let people earn by working from home and become our business partners under AGL Atmanirbhar programme,” the company’s chairman Kamlesh Patel and managing director Mukesh Patel have said.

The company’s partners will be known as IBP (Individual Business Partner) and will promote AGL products in given rural areas under the AGL training programme. Its objective is to create employment as well as increase AGL’s reach across the nation, besides helping its trade partners strengthening their secondary business to create awareness of all products, they informed.

Elaborating the business operations, Patel said, “With all safety measures and guidelines laid by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the company has begun its operations in most parts of the country. Our all nine plants, 13 offices & display centres, head office with necessary staff are functioning to provide market support and requirements. Our 260 exclusive showrooms out of 300-plus showrooms across the country have opened and started its usual functioning with safety and precautions. We aim to achieve optimum production capacity very soon.”

The company, he informed, currently exports to 78 countries and plan to expand its international reach to 120-plus countries for achieving 18-20% exports sales. It is ranked amongst top-3 listed ceramic tiles companies in the country and will focus on the high-end products such as premium GVT tiles, nanocrystal, quartz and marble. The company shall set a target of Rs 2,000 crore revenue in the next 2-3 years. It shall expand the retail network to 500 exclusive showrooms and strengthen its position in the bathware. The company has over 6,500 touch points with dealers and sub-dealers network, over 300exclusive AGL tiles showrooms, and 13 company-owned display Centres across the country.
