Kent RO Introduces Save Water Technology™

The company has launched three new models that boast of the revolutionary technology

Water purifiers major Kent RO Systems Ltd has launched a new range of mineral RO water purifiers with Save Water Technology™. The company has launched three models with this revolutionary technology – KENT Grand+, KENT Supreme, KENT Pearl. The newly launched models, available at retail outlets as well as on online platforms, are priced at Rs 19,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 19,500, respectively.

The RO purification process is essential to remove dissolved impurities like arsenic, fluorides, heavy metals, etc, as they are harmful for health. Conventional RO purification technology, while purifying, rejects a very high percentage of water (around 80%) and only 20% purified water is recovered. Balance water is wasted and goes down the drain.
Stressing on the problem of water wastage from RO water purifiers, Kent’s chairman Dr Mahesh Gupta said, “On the whole, conventional RO water purifiers require 40 litres of raw water to produce 10 litres of pure and drinkable water, so you can very well imagine how much water is being flushed away daily. Realising this huge problem and technology lag countrywide, Kent RO systems Limited has come up with this innovative ‘Save Water Technology™’. This undeniably is the biggest source to save wastage of drinking water at household level.”

It is herein that the company claims that the first of its kind Save Water Technology™ will boost pure water recovery from 20% to more than 50%. “The heart of this technology is a computer controlled process wherein the membrane is washed automatically and more than 50% of water intake is recovered as purified water. The balance rejected water is stored in a separate ‘Reject Water Tank’, which can be utilised for household purposes,” stated the company in its press statement.

In addition, the three new models boast of KENT’s patented Mineral RO technology. The company claims that the technology helps retain essential natural minerals in purified water using the TDS controller, thereby providing 100% safe and tasty drinking water. “Also the double purification of RO+UV/UF removes even dissolved impurities such as chemicals, bacteria, virus and salts, making water 100% pure. These models are best suited for Indian homes and offices and suitable for purification of brackish/tap water/municipal corporation water supply.”

The company has also introduced Reject Water Storage Tanks, which apart from being used in Save Water Technology™ RO purifiers can also be used with existing Kent RO water purifiers. In fact, RO Reject Water Storage Tank can easily be mounted on the wall above the sink, thereby reducing water wastage.

Gupta opined that to make a viable option for clean water resources in the country, sustainable forms of cooperation between private sector and government bodies are essential. “As the global demand for water is encroaching on its supply, there is a need for recycled water. To improve efficiency in corporate water use, we need to innovate around water reuse technology and enhance water education and outreach,” he asserted. ')}
