Roca Acquires Plastics Factory in Tamil Nadu

This will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity of plastic toilet seat covers and polymer cisterns by one million pieces annually, and expand its total production capacity to four million plastic pieces.

Sanitaryware major Roca Bathroom Products Pvt Ltd (RBPPL) has acquired a plastics factory in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

The acquisition of the plastics factory is in line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ programme, and will increase manufacturing capacity of plastic toilet seat covers and polymer cisterns by one million pieces annually. This will expand the company’s total production capacity to four million plastic pieces, RBPPL informed in a press release.

The company’s managing director KE Ranganathan said, “As part of our strategy to grow aggressively in India through our power brands, Roca and Parryware, we have acquired this new facility which can make high quality plastic products for bathroom application.”

According to Ranganathan, the new facility will also help the company to export its products to Roca Group in countries such as Australia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Malaysia and China.

He added, “The facility’s proximity to Chennai port will further help us with exports. We have been exporting seat covers to the group companies since 2016. With this move, an exponential growth in exports is expected this year onwards. The new factory’s capacity will help us meet our future growth plans.”

Currently, he added, exports constitute 5% of total sales, and with this acquisition the company expects the exports to double.
