Habito™ is an innovative solution in the gypsum board space, says Gyproc India managing director Venkat Subramanian
Saint-Gobain Gyproc, the world leader in habitat and construction market, has launched Habito™. The company claims it to be a revolutionary gypsum board that will create new benchmarks in drywall solutions by offering enhanced performance in load fixing strength, robustness and acoustics. The innovation, says the company, is designed to give customers greater flexibility with their spaceand easethe process ofloading on drywall.

Installed just like any other gypsum board, Habito™ drywall combines the strength and fixing capacity of masonry or ply with the benefits of drywall.”
As urban construction is expected to rise, there will be an increase in demand for sustainable construction methods such as gypsum-based drywalls.Habito™is the latest innovation of GyprocIndia, with which the company seeks to take the lead in sustainable habitat solutions.
Explaining the functionality aspects, Subramanian stated that Habito™, a new variant in the drywall space,is installed like any other gypsum board but allows usersto fix items such as TV brackets, cabinets, white board, lacquered glass, wall hanging instruments or any other heavy items. “This can be done without specialist fixings or using ply support, by simply fixing the screw directly into the wall,” he said. He explained that Habito™ delivers load carrying capacity of 30kg on each screw due to its dense core and patented technology, which means 120kg can be safely mounted using only four screws.“Apart from fixing strength, it absorbs knocks and bangs and dramatically reduces wear and tear ofthe wall.”
