Greenply’s joint managing director and CEO Shobhan Mittal has been conferred Leadership Award at the Economic Times Asian Business Leaders Conclave 2017. Mittal was recognised for his contribution to the Indian wood panel industry at the conclave held in Malaysia last November.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mittal said that the Indian government’s focus on creating more infrastructure, attracting FDI in real estate, ‘housing for all’ initiative and smart cities to accommodate India’s growing urban population are some of the growth drivers for the real estate and construction sector. “Greenply Industries Limited being one of the largest interior infrastructure companies in India stands to benefit from these growth drivers,” he said.
Mittal is credited with creating the Engineered Panel Division of Greenply Industries Limited, which manufactures and markets medium density fibreboard (MDF) and flooring solutions. Under his leadership the company is commissioning Asia’s largest MDF plant in Andhra Pradesh, spread across 200 acres, which promises a staggering annual production of 3,60,000 cubic meter. The upcoming plant is expected to generate a turnover of Rs 2,000 crore for the company by 2020. ')}
