VitrA’s Equal Series Wins iF Design Award

Equal, Turkish VitrA’s bathroom collection designed in collaboration with the celebrated designer Claudio Bellini has won 2020 iF Design Award. The iF Design Award is revered for design excellence in the field of product, packaging, communication, interior architecture, service design, professional concept, and architecture.

Acknowledging the Equal series, the iF Design Award says: “Equal represents the equilibrium between the rational and the sensual. It employs basic geometric forms shaped by simplicity, embracing at the same time natural organic forms. To enhance the relaxing and sensual atmosphere of the space, the collection combines cold and warm materials in the form of ceramic and wood. Black metal elements are also used as accents, to strengthen the timeless character of the collection. The linear lines create a stunning effect and are expressed in wall-mounted, countertop and double bowl versions. All three versions support ease of cleaning as they hang clear of the floor surface.

VitrA brand is owned by Eczacıbaşı, a Turkish industrial group that has a presence in building products, healthcare and consumer products sectors. “VitrA manufacturers 50 lakh units of sanitaryware, 3.5 lakh bathtubs, 3.7 lakh bathroom furniture, 30 lakh faucets, and 25 lakh bathroom accessories every year. It exports 50% of its production to over 75 countries worldwide for sale in 150 exclusive showrooms and 2,000 sales points across the world,” said Serhan Ates Yagiz, country manager, VitrA India.
