Malaysia-based laminate wooden flooring brand Xylos Arteriors India has launched its Design Centre in Mumbai. The experiential outlet will showcase engineered wood flooring, solid wood flooring, laminate flooring, external wooden decking and bamboo flooring, as well as wood-based wall-coverings. Xylos is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the $10 billion Samling Global Malaysia, a forest-to-flooring conglomerate that operates across the globe.
Speaking exclusively to SH, Xylos general manager Chirag Shah informed that the company is a world leader in forestry products. “We are the only company in the world that manages its forests, produces raw materials, including MDF and develops end products such as flooring and laminates. All our products are backed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. This demonstrates our commitment to responsible forestry and sustainable development.”
According to Shah, Xylos is rapidly expanding its dealer network across India, with the current focus being on the north and eastern markets. Dealers of bathroom fittings, tiles and natural stone are the company’s primary target. “We believe that the customers’ decisions regarding flooring are taken at the time when bathrooms are being designed and installed. Therefore we would like to be present at those showrooms where the leading bathroom, sanitaryware and tile brands are being marketed.” The company has already appointed around 35 dealers across the country.
Shah informs that the company is adopting a dealer-friendly approach to ensure high RoI for channel partners, and making the buying process transparent for customers. “The Xylos display concept takes up an 8×10 sft space at the dealer outlet. We support our dealers with a subsidised display that incorporates point-of-sale branding. Besides, we also train their sales staff on the technical qualities of our products and SOPs of installation. Since we have a very short turnaround time from our Bhiwandi warehouse, our dealers need not invest in inventory.”
The Xylos Design Centre is a one-of-a-kind store. It features the Ferris Wheel, which helps visitors choose flooring with all the required information available alongside. The company’s bestsellers Hybrid engineered wooden flooring and Borneo Teak engineered flooring are showcased as well. The location of the display centre is Shop no 01 and 02, Suyog Industrial Estate, LBS Marg, Vikhroli West, Mumbai.
