Ozone to Build Channel Network for Secutech Business

Architectural hardware major Ozone Secutech, which is part of the Ozone Group, is actively seeking channel partners for its security and surveillance business. The company has three verticals – fire doors, safes & locks, and CCV surveillance & security. In an exclusive interaction with Sourcing Hardware, the company’s managing director Alok Agarwal (alok@ozone-india.com) informed that Ozone is keen to partner with system integrators, distributors and dealers for its fast-growing Secutech business. The Ozone Group has restructured its business into three entities – Ozone Overseas, Ozone Metalscapes, and Ozone Secutech, which represent the hardware, infrastructure and surveillance and security business respectively.

“At Ozone Secutech, we provide safety and security in a 360-degree manner. We provide CCTV cameras along with locks and safes, and also professional solutions to offer a preventive solution to the customers. We have invested in this new business for the past two years,” shared Agarwal. He added that while a few distribution partners are already in place, the company is hungry for more. “Retailing of surveillance and security products is a different ballgame as compared to that of hardware,” he remarked. According to Agarwal, Secutech is putting in place a large team for sales and distribution. “We are very bullish about this business vertical.”

Channel partners for Secutech would include system integrators who deal with lighting and electrical products, low-voltage consultants, and IoT people. “Many of our existing hardware dealers and distributors, kitchen manufactures, and wardrobe manufacturers could also be sales partners for Secutech.”

Ozone’s Secutech business involves a lot of project selling, which is based on specifications and a detailed understanding of the technology. “Hardware is a sell and forget product. As for security and surveillance, it is a combination of hardware, software, networking and installation. We need to ensure that our channel partners provide the complete solution to customers,” Agarwal said. He added that Ozone would get involved in the project early, right from understanding the requirements to designing of the solution.

With the government’s growing focus on smart cities and other large infrastructure, Ozone is viewing the security business as a sunrise sector. “In the next three to four years, we see ourselves emerging as one of the top 10 players in the security and surveillance segment in India,” he stated, adding that Ozone has been manufacturing security products under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The company has a facility for safes and fire-doors and has made a significant investment in the software side of the vertical. “For cameras and recorders, we have very competent and technologically accomplished vendors.” In an earlier interaction with Sourcing Hardware, Agarwal had shared that Ozone expects revenues of Rs 500 crore from the security solutions vertical over the next three to four years.
