Berger Brings Energy Performance ETICS Technology to India

“Berger’s introduction of ETICS will help air-conditioned buildings lower energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint, making them environmentally sustainable and resource efficient.”

Paints major Berger Paints India Ltd (BPIL) has, through its subsidiary Poland-headquartered Bolix SA, brought “the energy performance technology” External Thermal Insulation and Composite Systems (ETICS) to the Indian construction industry.

Earlier this year, state-owned construction firm NBCC India Ltd and Bolix had signed a Memorandum of Business Exploration to bring ETICS, a “proven solution for improving energy performance of temperature controlled buildings” to India.

“We are glad to be a part of this venture. This is the stepping stone towards technological development in the paint, allied and real estate sector. We are looking forward to experience the long term benefits of this joint initiative. ETICS technology is a robust and long-lasting energy performance solution, which is highly cost effective, safe for inhabitants living in insulated houses and hugely beneficial for the environment,” said BPIL chairman Kuldip Singh Dhingra.

At a recent conference Bolix showcased the benefits of ETICS and its applicability to Indian conditions. It highlighted how European countries such as Germany and Poland are pioneers in the technology. The company explained the entire theory of ETICS and how it is used in over 15 countries in Europe leading to “great” benefits in reduction of energy consumption and lowering of green house gases and environmental pollution.

The introduction of ETICS would help air-conditioned buildings lower energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint, making them environmentally sustainable and resource efficient. This is also the need of the hour, considering national initiatives such as Smart Cities and Swachh Bharat, according to BPIL.

Bolix, through BPIL, and NBCC Ltd would be jointly implementing the ETICS technology at marquee sites on a test basis. They would then develop a business plan for rolling out the technology on a pan-India basis in commercial spaces as quickly as possible.

At the conference, BPIL also showcased some of its latest innovations in the decorative paint segment. These products include Weathercoat Anti Dustt (Dust repellent exterior coating), Home Shield Water proof Putty and Flame Retardant paints. ')}
