Trojan Plywood Aims for Rs 600cr Turnover in 3yrs

Bengaluru-based MAK Plywood Industries Pvt Ltd, which sells its products under the brand name of Trojan, wants to consolidate its presence down south while putting an expansion plan in motion for the east and western regions. The company is a major player in the south with substantial presence in Kerala. The company has also introduced a ā€˜lifetime guarantee cardā€™ for all Trojan plywood products.

Commenting on these initiatives company director Mohiyuddin Ashfaq states, ā€œWe have a very strong sales and distribution network in south India, and we plan to double our volumes over the next 18ā€“24 months. For the rest of south India the emphasis will be on consolidating our sales and distribution network and accelerating growth of the brand. The east and west of India will see major expansion in the next two years. We clocked a turnover of Rs 200 crore last fiscal and in the next three years we are expecting to touch a turnover of Rs 600 crore.ā€

Ashfaq added that the plywood industry in India is estimated to be in the range of Rs 20,000 crore annually, of which close to 70% is unorganised. The organised sector, which is about Rs 6,000 crore, is growing at about 20-25% annually.
