The Häfele Stanford Series is a range of architectural spotlights and downlights built around a modular system that allows different lighting configurations to be created from a common set of components. The range combines selectable light engines, baffles and mounting brackets with adjustable colour temperature, glare-control features and different light-distribution options for residential and commercial interiors.
Modular System Creates 42 Luminaire Combinations
At the centre of the Stanford Series is a modular approach to configuring the luminaire. Users can select the Light Engine, Baffle and Mounting Bracket to create different combinations according to the installation and desired lighting effect.
According to Häfele, the system allows 42 luminaire combinations. The range includes round and square formats as well as trim and trimless installation options. Seven baffle finishes provide another level of visual variation, allowing the lighting fixture either to blend with the surrounding interior or become a more visible design element.
This component-based structure gives the Häfele Stanford Series a common platform while providing multiple possibilities in terms of form, finish and installation.

The Stanford Series incorporates Häfele’s Multiwhite Light Engine, which allows the colour temperature to be adjusted across a range from 2700K to 6500K. This extends the lighting possibilities from warmer to cooler white light within the same system rather than restricting a luminaire to a single fixed colour temperature.
The luminaires also feature a tiltable design. The direction of light can therefore be adjusted after installation, providing control over where the light is focused within a space.
Glare and Light Distribution
Visual comfort is another part of the Häfele Stanford Series proposition. Häfele states that the luminaires have a UGR of less than 19, together with a 35-degree cut-off angle, to help reduce glare.
The system also provides several accessories for modifying how light is distributed. These include honeycomb louvers, striped glass, diffusion sheets and woven glass, which can be used to produce different lighting effects and levels of diffusion.
Together, the adjustable direction, colour temperature and light-distribution components allow the same architectural lighting family to address different lighting requirements and interior settings.
Tool-Free Installation
Häfele has also designed the Stanford Series around a plug-and-play, tool-free installation system. This complements the modular construction by allowing the different components of the lighting system to be assembled without tools.
The Häfele Stanford Series is designed for both residential and commercial spaces. By combining 42 possible luminaire configurations with multiple formats and finishes, adjustable colour temperature, glare-control features and directional lighting, the range brings several architectural lighting functions together within one modular product family.
