Sanjay Agarwal, managing director, Century Plyboards India Ltd expects a wide a range of measures as the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to rise to present the Union Budget 2020-21 on February 1.
Here is Agarwals’ first-person account:
We have been talking about the huge investment in infrastructure, but there seems no action on the ground. It is high time government initiates the plan of action and delivers in reality. Instead of starting more new schemes, existing ones requires better implementation.
The long-term capital gain issue also needs revision. Amongst other things, we feel the decriminalisation of company laws is also important.

Overall a very deep and detailed look at issues faced in new business, manufacturing is required and expected. Actual issues, local issues, government controls, land acquisition, credit, debt recovery laws need practical look. The judiciary needs to be overhauled to cater to a large number of cases. Each case must come to a decision within a maximum period of 2 years.
