The third Hippo Stores has come up in Zirakpur, Punjab at Dhillon Plaza. The 40,000-sft outlet specialises in construction and building materials and is promoted by the cement and sugar industry major Dalmia Group.
Strategically located in the Chandigarh tri-city – Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali – the Zikarpur Hippo Stores aims to address the demand for building products emerging from the significant growth in residential construction in the region.
The company’s other two outlets are located in Mayapuri, Delhi and Noida, UP, both spread over 50,000 sft.
Speaking at the store launch, Hippo Stores managing director Amit Garg said, “After the successful launch of our outlets in Delhi NCR, we are ready to set our footsteps in Punjab in Zirakpur. In India, there have never been stores that offer building materials of different varieties at one location. Since our inception, Hippo Stores in Delhi NCR have received a tremendous response from the market and customers, clearly indicating that the customers are looking for a one-stop solution for all building materials. We aim to make home building easy for our customers.”
Garg informed that the stores, which serve homeowners, contractors and retailers with wholesale prices, offer 12,000+ products from more than 160 brands. “We aim to set up 27 such outlets across the country in the next five years.”
Hippo Stores offer the entire range of building products needed for home construction, including steel, cement, paints, hardware, bathrooms, kitchens, tiles etc. Their strategy is to enhance customer experience by allowing them to compare multiple brands, designs and varieties under one roof. Unique features of the Zirakpur store include multiple mock-ups of modular kitchens and bathrooms, a colour lab with tinting machines from leading paint brands, design rooms where customers can experience the application of paint and wallpaper, and large screens for display and knowledge sharing.
