Berger Paints Rang Bana Rahe campaign redefines the brand’s promise by connecting colour protection with human resilience and individuality.
For decades, Berger Paints has built its reputation on a simple product promise: protecting colour. Whether through exterior coatings that withstand harsh weather, finishes that repel dust, or paints that resist everyday stains, the company’s innovations have focused on helping surfaces retain their appearance over time.
With its latest campaign Rang Bana Rahe, Berger is extending that promise beyond walls and into the realm of human emotions. The campaign comes as the company reported FY2025–26 revenue of ₹11,987 crore, registering 2.99% year-on-year growth, while seeking to refresh its brand identity for the next phase of growth.
The Berger Paints Rang Bana Rahe campaign marks a refreshed brand identity for the company, shifting the conversation from preserving colour on surfaces to preserving the qualities that define people—their individuality, optimism and resilience.
Rather than celebrating colour purely as an aesthetic element, Berger positions it as a metaphor for the spirit people carry within them. The campaign suggests that, just as paint is designed to withstand rain, dust and heat, people too strive to retain their character and positivity through changing circumstances.
The thought comes alive through a campaign film centred on a character named Khushrangi, whose colours remain intact despite everything life throws at him. As the story unfolds, the focus moves beyond product performance to a broader message: resilience is not about avoiding adversity, but about refusing to let it diminish who we are.
According to Abhijit Roy, the company’s Managing Director & CEO, the campaign represents an evolution of the company’s long-standing brand proposition.
“For years, Berger has been known for protecting colour through our products like Easy Clean and Anti Dustt. As we looked to the future of the brand, we asked ourselves what protecting colour truly means. We realised it isn’t just about walls—it is about people and the strength to hold on to who they are through life’s ups and downs. That’s the spirit behind ‘Rang Bana Rahe’.”
The creative direction was developed by Sideways Consulting, which sought to build the campaign around an idea that naturally emerged from Berger’s heritage in protective coatings rather than creating a conventional paint advertisement.
Explaining the approach, Abhijit Avasthi, Founder, Sideways Consulting, said the objective of the Berger Paints Rang Bana Rahe campaign was to identify a thought that Berger could uniquely own.
“Its leadership in protective coatings gave us an opportunity to make that promise deeply human. At its heart, ‘Rang Bana Rahe’ is a celebration of resilience and the determination to hold on to your colours, no matter what life brings.”
From a branding perspective, the campaign reflects a broader shift in consumer marketing, where brands are increasingly moving beyond functional product claims to build emotional relevance. Instead of focusing solely on technical performance, companies are connecting product benefits with values, aspirations and lived experiences.
For Berger, the underlying product promise remains unchanged—its portfolio continues to emphasise protection against weather, dust and stains through offerings such as HomeShield, WeatherCoat Anti Dustt and Easy Clean. What has changed is the way that promise is being communicated.
The campaign is being rolled out across television, digital platforms and social media, with multilingual versions designed to reach audiences across India.
