Finolex Organises 60 Plumber Meets, Launches Training Modules
In sync with the government’s Skill India Mission, Pune-based PVC pipes and fitting manufacturer Finolex Industries organised 60 plumbers meets across the nation on the eve of World Plumbing Day. The meets were conducted in 26 states and 58 cities and saw participation of about 3,000 plumbers. All these meets primarily focused on the importance of skilled plumbers in the country.
Further, a video training module was also launched which kickstarted the first leg of the skill development programme which has been developed in collaboration with Kushal. The training module aims to impart knowledge of the basic do’s and don’ts of plumbing to construction workers and unskilled plumbers. It also provides information on plumbing essentials like safety guidelines, sewerage systems, drainage systems, septic pipes and the knowhow of this industry. The first leg of the training programme will include 500 plumbers and will aim to train up to one lakh plumbers in the next five years.
Speaking on the occasion, the company’s executive chairman Prakash Chhabria commented, “This day is significant considering that it is World Plumbing Day and being able to reach out to so many members of our plumbing community is heartfelt.” He added, “ Following PM’s Skill India mission, we are aiming to train one lakh plumbers across the country and provide them all required skills, which may cost more than `10 crore to the company.” ')}
