Hettich India managing director AK Goel has lauded the efforts of the government and the Reserve of India (RBI) in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Speaking to SH, he said that the government has chosen to save human lives over the economy, contrary to what America is doing. “At this stage of the pandemic, the government has begun focusing on the economy as well. The government and RBI have announced a slew of measures which are expected to bring relief in the lives of the common man and businesses. Both are responsive and have come out with additional measures when required. I think that the government is doing a good job and will take more steps should the situation require.”
Noting that Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown will have a deep impact on the way kitchens are designed and applied, Goel said, “Women and men are now investing more time in kitchens as they are unable to secure services of their domestic help. This is enabling them to discover and gain more insights into the utility quotient of the kitchen, be it appliances, hardware, fittings, or materials. Going forward, people will invest more monies, time and resources in diligently designing kitchens.”
Touching upon stakeholders, he said, “In times like these, we are standing with our channel partners. We are training them through our webinars. We are also telling them to heighten hygiene. Internally, we are supporting our employees; we have paid full salary on time. We want all our stakeholders to be in a positive frame of mind. This is important for the well-being of people and business.”
