Blum AVENTOS lift systems offer upward-opening solutions for wall cabinets, with four mechanisms for different cabinet sizes and configurations.
The Blum AVENTOS lift systems provide an alternative to conventional side-hinged doors for overhead kitchen and wall cabinets. Designed to move cabinet fronts upwards rather than outwards, the systems are intended to keep the area in front of the cabinet unobstructed while providing access to the complete cabinet interior.
The AVENTOS portfolio includes four lift mechanisms suited to different cabinet configurations: bi-fold, up-and-over, stay-lift and parallel-lift systems. The mechanisms can also be combined with Blum’s SERVO-DRIVE electrical opening technology.
Upward Movement Changes Cabinet Access
Unlike conventional cabinet shutters that swing outwards when opened, AVENTOS fronts move upwards and remain above the working area.
The lift mechanism is designed to hold the front at the position where the user releases it. This allows a partially opened front to remain in place rather than requiring it to be opened completely. When closing, the system provides controlled movement for the cabinet front.
The upward movement can be particularly relevant to overhead cabinetry positioned above kitchen worktops, where an outward-opening shutter occupies space in front of the cabinet while it is being accessed.
Four Blum AVENTOS Lift Systems for Different Cabinet Configurations
The AVENTOS range provides four movement options according to the layout and type of cabinet front.
AVENTOS HF top uses a bi-fold mechanism in which the two-part front folds as it moves upwards. The configuration is intended for higher wall cabinets and larger fronts.
AVENTOS HS top moves a single-piece front upwards and over the cabinet, providing an up-and-over movement.
AVENTOS HK top is a stay-lift mechanism for compact applications where the single front pivots upwards.
AVENTOS HL top raises the cabinet front vertically while keeping it parallel to the cabinet face.
The choice of mechanism can therefore be matched to the height, front configuration and movement required for a particular wall cabinet.
Variable Stop and Controlled Closing
A key feature of the AVENTOS mechanism is its ability to hold the cabinet front at different opening positions. The front remains where it is released, allowing users to position it according to the access required.
The system also controls the movement of the front during closing, including with larger or heavier cabinet fronts.
For handleless applications, AVENTOS can be integrated with Blum’s SERVO-DRIVE electrical opening system. This enables electrically assisted opening and closing through interaction with the cabinet front.
Supporting Wider Cabinet Fronts
The lift-system approach also allows furniture manufacturers to work with wider overhead cabinet fronts.
According to Blum, conventional side hinges can come under greater strain as the width and weight of an upper cabinet door increase. AVENTOS distributes the load through the lift mechanism, enabling the use of wider fronts while maintaining upward movement.
Blum says its AVENTOS mechanisms undergo testing for 80,000 opening and closing cycles in its laboratories as part of the company’s durability testing process.
By moving cabinet fronts upwards rather than into the working area, the AVENTOS range gives kitchen and furniture designers another way of configuring overhead storage, with different mechanisms available for different cabinet formats.
