Sector skill council FFSC has launched Skill Stars Ki Khoj to build an industry-ready workforce for furniture, interiors & allied sectors. The Council has taken a major step towards addressing the growing demand for skilled workers in these sectors by launching its innovative student mobilisation campaign.
FFSC (Furniture & Fittings Skill Council) has been set up by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The Skill Stars Ki Khoj mobilisation campaign was conducted in April across the districts of Tonk, Malpura and Madhorajpura in Rajasthan. The campaign’s objective was to raise awareness about career prospects in the furniture and interior industry and motivate young individuals to undertake structured skill training in various business aspects including designing, manufacturing, installation and management.
This grassroots outreach is a part of FFSC’s broader vision to build a future-ready talent pipeline aligned with industry requirements and global standards.

Key highlights of the campaign included:
- Interactive sessions for introducing students to career opportunities in furniture, interior, and allied sectors.
- Orientation to FFSC Skill Academies, which offer formal training in furniture design and manufacturing, followed by on-the-job training (OJT) and assured placement.
- Live demonstrations aligned with World Skills standards, showcasing advanced craftsmanship, precision techniques, and safe handling of industry-grade power tools.
- Special interactions with Skill Stars Kesar Singh Rajput and Gulshan Kumar Sharma, who have represented India at World Skills competitions, to inspire participants and offer personal insights into the world of professional skill excellence.
- Open Q&A sessions to clarify career pathways and guide student aspirations.
“Skill Stars Ki Khoj is our way of meeting the youth in their communities and showing them the exciting and rewarding career possibilities in the interiors and furniture space,” said Rahul Mehta, CEO of FFSC. “By equipping them with world-class skills in design, build, install and manage, we are investing in a stronger, more skilled India.”
Mehta informed that candidates who enrol through the Skill Stars Ki Khoj campaign would be admitted to the nearest Skill Academy within FFSC’s pan-India network.
Currently, FFSC operates academies in Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Telangana, Saharanpur, Dhule and Delhi-NCR. These centres are equipped with industry-standard infrastructure and deliver intensive training programs to make candidates job-ready and industry-relevant.

Besides technical training, the program includes masterclasses by industry experts, industry visits, on-the-job training, and placement support.
According to Mehta, the mobilisation campaign reinforces FFSC’s commitment to formalising the unorganised workforce, addressing the sector’s skill gap, and working closely with industry, academia and government to deliver scalable skilling solutions.
“We invite furniture and material manufacturers, interior design firms, and CSR partners to collaborate with us in expanding the reach of the Skill Stars Ki Khoj campaign for nurturing India’s next generation of skilled professionals. Just message Hi to us at 8595703202 and an FFSC team member will get back at the earliest.”
